Apple To Include Generative AI In Their Product Offerings

Catching up with big techs

Apple clearly has a lot of catching up to do with big tech firms like Google, Microsoft, and even Amazon offering different generative AI services to end-users.

Soon, Apple will join the growing number of tech giants that have begun to include generative AI in their product offerings. Bloomberg claims that Cupertino is working on a variety of generative AI-related technologies for use in future iPhones, Macs, and services.

The paper describes Apple’s long-running work on generative AI, codenamed Apple GPT and led by three senior VPs (John Giannandrea, Craig Federighi, and Eddy Cue) in the form of a large language model (LLM).

The initial phase, which is rumored to be underway and set to be live as soon as next year, involves the business supercharging Siri with creative AI capabilities. Additionally, the business is looking on methods to include AI into its Xcode developer’s program and the upcoming version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 18.

AI features

Similar AI features, such as automatically produced playlists, that Spotify provides may eventually make their way into other first-party programs, such as Apple Music. Pages and Keynote, among others, are rumored to undergo a significant AI upgrade.

Apple is thinking about using generative AI in a number of different methods, including providing a wholly on-device experience, a cloud-based arrangement, or a hybrid of the two. However, a cloud-based solution should allow Apple to provide more advanced AI experiences while also protecting user privacy.
